The Caloundra Junior Open was held over the weekend and was a great success, partly due to some excellent squash played a good turn out of Junior players and the smooth well organized tournament run by Marilyn and Paige Inia-McGarvey.
Div one final was another marathon final between Jamie McErvale and Sunil Seth with Jamie getting the honors this time in five, Div two was won by Brisbane Regions Bethany Brazier who is no stranger to cleaning up her opposition, although Southern Region girls Grace McErvale and Natalie Newton are improving and are chances at up setting the girls at the National Tri Series at Rocky.
Mitchell Rauschenbach won Div 3 after being seeded four never missed a beat going straight through to the final and winning a great effort.
Brisbane`s Shemiah Tahata up set the number one seed Southerns Claire Newton in the final of Div 4.

Australian newcomers and Southern Region squash players Peter Taylor and Nathan Stevenson both celebrated significant milestones as they made the main draw of their first overseas professional squash tournament in Malaysia on Monday. Taylor, 20, from Ipswich and 21-year-old Stevenson, from Caboolture, won through two rounds of qualifying to reach the first round of the Malaysian International in Kuala Lumpur.
Southern Region junior Jamie McErvale makes a good start in his first PSA tournament as a member making the semifinals in the 2009 WAVELL OPEN - PSA Closed Satellite going down to Brad Freme in four.
Jamie went down in the first game 11-9 after leading 8-4 then winning the second but found Brads experience hard to overcome in the end, Brad went on to win the Final over Nathan Turnbull in four.
Jamie won his first match beating another former Southern Region Junior in Michael Collins in four and then beating former top Southern Region junior Luke Forster in five, Luke stiffened up during the match after traveling around Western Australia promoting Squash to Schools.
Two other Southern Region players are competing in Malaysa at the Moment Nathan Stephenson and Peter Taylor both former Southern Region juniors.
